The audiobook of Pyramids, part of the Discworld series, is narrated by Alfred Enoch, known for his roles in the Harry Potter film series and How To Get Away With Murder. The footnotes are read by BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning actor Bill Nighy, recognized for his work in films such as Love Actually, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The voice of Death is provided by Peter Serafinowicz, who has appeared in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and Shaun of the Dead. The audiobook features a new theme tune composed by James Hannigan.

The story follows young Prince Teppic, who is sent from his desert homeland to the city of Ankh-Morpork to receive the best education money can buy, which happens to be at the Assassins' Guild. However, when Teppic's father dies suddenly, fate takes him away from assassination and into the realm of politics. Teppic returns home to the small, penniless kingdom of Djelibeybi to take his place as ruler.

As tradition dictates, the new king must build a monumental pyramid to honor his dead father. But this task might just bankrupt the kingdom and warp the very fabric of time and space itself. The Discworld novels can be read in any order, and Pyramids is a standalone story within the series.

The first book in the Discworld series, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983, and some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this earlier time period. The audiobook is brought to you by Penguin and features the quote, "LOOK AFTER THE DEAD," SAID THE PRIESTS, "AND THE DEAD WOULD LOOK AFTER YOU."
